Productivity Looks Different in My World — And That’s Not a Problem
Let’s get something straight:
Just because I don’t work like you…
Just because I don’t wake up at 5AM, knock out a 12-point to-do list, and meditate while color-coding my planner…
Doesn’t mean I’m not productive.
It means I have a different rhythm.
One that’s powered by passion, creativity, hyperfocus, vibes, and a little chaos.
One that doesn’t follow the “rules” of traditional business culture.
And I’m done apologizing for it.
The Problem with Productivity Culture
We’ve been fed a very specific (and very boring) definition of what “being productive” looks like:
Wake up early
Work in time blocks
Batch everything
Grind until it’s done
Track every minute
Post about your to-do list like it’s a trophy
Sounds great… for a robot.
But for a neurodivergent, creative, queer, multi-passionate entrepreneur like me?
That system doesn’t just not work—it actually makes me feel broken.
What Productivity Actually Looks Like in My World
✨ It’s nonlinear.
✨ It’s intuitive.
✨ It’s bursts of brilliance followed by deep rest.
✨ It’s working 10 hours straight one day and needing a mental health break the next.
✨ It’s ideas that hit in the shower, during a playlist spiral, or mid-sleep.
My productivity isn’t found in how much I do.
It’s found in how aligned I am with what I’m doing.
How I Redefined “Getting Things Done”
⚡ I stopped forcing 9-to-5 hours.
I work best in windows—late mornings, creative afternoons, random night sprints. I gave myself permission to honor that instead of fighting it.
🎧 I created environments that support how I think.
Some days it’s lo-fi beats and silence. Other days it’s chaotic playlists and neon lights with 57 open tabs. Both are valid.
📅 I replaced pressure with patterns.
I don’t demand consistency from myself—I build in flexibility. I use theme days, energy check-ins, and vibes-based planning.
📉 I stopped measuring productivity by output.
Just because I didn’t finish a project doesn’t mean the day was a waste.
Brainstorming, resting, reflecting, connecting—those count too.
You’re Not Lazy. You’re Just Not Wired for Beige.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re falling behind because you can’t stick to someone else’s system, hear this:
You’re not failing. Their system is just too small for your brain.
You don’t need to change how your brain works.
You need to build a business that works with your brain.
TL;DR:
My productivity isn’t predictable.
It’s powerful.
It’s intuitive.
It’s built on trust—between me and my own rhythm.
And if it looks weird from the outside? Good. That means it’s mine.
