I’m Not Inconsistent — My Brain Just Operates in Bursts

Because “doing it every day” isn’t always the flex it’s cracked up to be.

Let’s clear something up right now:

I’m not lazy.
I’m not flaky.
I’m not “bad at being consistent.”
I just have a brain that works in waves—and I’ve finally stopped fighting it.

If you're a neurodivergent, creative, chaos-coded entrepreneur trying to function inside a world built for spreadsheets and linear thinking, this one's for you.

The Lie: Consistency = Success

We’ve all heard it:
"Be consistent and you’ll win."
“Post every day.”
“Stick to your schedule.”
“Just show up. Every. Single. Day.”

And listen... consistency can be great—if your brain thrives on structure. But if you’re like me?

Trying to be consistent the neurotypical way is a fast track to burnout and self-doubt.

Because no matter how many planners or habit trackers you download...
No matter how many “morning routine” TikToks you try to replicate...

It still doesn’t feel sustainable.

The Truth: My Creativity Moves in Bursts—and That’s Not a Flaw

My best work doesn’t come from forcing myself to show up every day.
It comes from fully riding the wave when the focus hits.
From leaning into the hyperfixation.
From building systems that let me rest without guilt when the energy drops off.

I create in sprints.
I rest in silence.
Then I come back louder, clearer, and more aligned than before.

And guess what? It works.

Here’s What Working in Bursts Actually Looks Like for Me:

⚡ 1. Hyperfocus = Content Goldmine

When I’m in a creative pocket, I go all in. I’ll design, write, plan, and build out more than I can use in a single week—and that becomes my reserve for the slower days.

🧠 2. I Don’t Fight the Lull—That’s Recharge Mode

The downtime isn’t a breakdown. It’s resetting. It’s subconscious processing. It’s refueling for the next burst. I don’t guilt myself for needing it anymore.

🔁 3. I Design Flexible Systems (Not Rigid Schedules)

I use weekly themes, recurring rhythms, and a whole lot of grace. I leave space for chaos, pivots, and energy crashes because... they’re going to happen anyway.

🎯 4. I Automate the “Baseline”

Templates, scheduled content, workflows—I set the low-energy default so I can focus on the high-energy magic when it hits.

Stop Judging Your Process by Someone Else’s Pattern

You’re not inconsistent.
You’re cyclical.
You’re patterned.
You’re built for surges of energy and brilliance—followed by recovery and reflection.

That’s not a productivity problem.
That’s your superpower.

TL;DR:

✅ You don’t need to “show up daily” to be effective.
✅ You don’t need to fight your natural rhythm to succeed.
✅ You don’t need to be consistent to be brilliant.

What you need is a system that flexes with your brain—not one that punishes it.
